Agribank Can Tho City Branch hands over the Charity Shelter in Binh Thuy District

(CTO) - On April 28, the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (Agribank) Can Tho City Branch; Agribank Binh Thuy District Branch in coordination with the Women's Union of Binh Thuy District organized a handover ceremony of the house "Warm House of Love" to the family of Ms. Truong Thi Vien, a member of the Women's Union of Binh Yen A area, Long Hoa ward, Binh Thuy district.

Agribank Can Tho City Branch, Agribank Binh Thuy District, together with the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of Binh Thuy District Party Committee, and the District Women's Union, performed the ceremony of attaching the "Warm House of Love" award plaque.

Attending the handover ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of Agribank Can Tho City Branch; Mr. Le Tan Khoi, Director of Agribank Binh Thuy District Branch; Ms. Vo Thi Dong Xuan, Deputy Head of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Binh Thuy District Party Committee; Ms. Phan Ngoc Kieu, President of Binh Thuy District Women's Union.

Mr. Le Tan Khoi, Director of Agribank Binh Thuy District Branch, presented a symbolic plaque of 50 million VND for house construction costs to Ms. Truong Thi Vien.

Ms. Truong Thi Vien is a member of the Women's Union in difficult circumstances in Binh Yen A area, Long Hoa ward. Her family has difficulty with housing. She and her son live in a makeshift, dilapidated house, with unstable and precarious jobs. Their daily economic conditions are not enough to support their children's education, and they do not have the means to build a house.

With the attention of the leaders of the Women's Union of Binh Thuy District and the sponsorship from Agribank Can Tho Branch, Ms. Vien was supported to build a "Warm House of Love" with a total construction cost of 90 million VND. Of which, Agribank Can Tho Branch supported 50 million VND, the remaining cost was contributed by the Women's Union of the District and her family to complete the house. After nearly 1 month of construction, the house with an area of 52m2 has been completed and put into use.

Ms. Vo Thi Dong Xuan, Deputy Head of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Binh Thuy District Party Committee, presented the decision to donate the Shelter of Love to Ms. Truong Thi Vien.

At the ceremony, Ms. Truong Thi Vien expressed her joy and happiness for having a spacious house. At the same time, she sent her sincere thanks to the Women's Union of Binh Thuy District, the Women's Union of Long Hoa Ward, the People's Committee of the area and Agribank for supporting the funding to build the house. Ms. Vien also shared her determination to work hard to improve her life as well as to regularly renovate the house to make it more spacious.

Ms. Phan Ngoc Kieu, President of the Women's Union of Binh Thuy District, presented a letter of thanks to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of Agribank Can Tho City Branch.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of Agribank Can Tho City Branch shared: In addition to business activities in the field of currency, capital mobilization and lending, accompanying the development of the local economy, every year Agribank allocates a portion of profits and mobilizes contributions from staff and workers for social security work, focusing on the fields of health, education, caring for policy families, families in difficult circumstances. The coordination with the Women's Union of Binh Thuy District to build and hand over "Shelter of Love" to Ms. Truong Thi Vien's family aims to practically establish achievements to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, associated with the implementation of the Government's major policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for families in difficult housing circumstances. Therefore, staff and workers of Agribank Can Tho City Branch and Agribank Binh Thuy District deduct from their salaries to accompany the District Women's Union in implementing this meaningful program. The completed project demonstrates Agribank's sense of responsibility to the community and the locality's concern for disadvantaged households.

On this occasion, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan congratulated Ms. Truong Thi Vien when receiving the handover of the "Warm House of Love" house and hoped that her family would feel secure in doing business and settling down. Agribank Can Tho City Branch will continue to accompany local social security programs with the motto "leaving no one behind".
