On October 1, 2024, the Department of Trade Remedies, Ministry of Industry and Trade posted a notice on the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies of India (DGTR) on calcium carbonate filler masterbatch originating or imported from Vietnam.

Accordingly, on October 17, 2024, the Trade Remedies Authority received information from the Vietnam Trade Office in India about the issuance of public investigation questionnaires and petitions by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies of India related to the above case.

To promptly respond to the incident, the Department of Trade Remedies recommends that associations and enterprises producing and exporting products subject to investigation do the following: Request the Directorate General of Trade Remedies of India to confirm the exact deadline for submitting the response to the investigation questionnaire. Request importers and other relevant parties to respond to the economic interest investigation questionnaire, in which it is requested that the Directorate General of Trade Remedies of India not impose taxes on the products under investigation.

In addition, carefully study the notice of initiation, the public version of the complaint, and send comments on the case (if any). Study and review the products and send PCN proposals to be used during the investigation, and comment on the PCN proposals of the plaintiff (if any). Cooperate fully and completely with the investigating agency to avoid being concluded as uncooperative (often leading to high tax rates), and request the investigating agency to provide full information related to the enterprise. Coordinate with the Department of Trade Defense to receive timely support.
