According to senior aides, during the dialogue, Harris emphasized the importance of a peaceful transfer of power and the concept of a president who serves all the American people.

On the same day, CNN reported that former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama, who played a central role in the final weeks of Harris's campaign, sent congratulatory letters to the winning ticket of Donald Trump and JD Vance.

Meanwhile, the international community continues to react to the results of the US presidential election. Speaking at headquarters in New York, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres affirmed his readiness to cooperate with the new US administration in addressing global challenges.

He also acknowledged the active participation of the American people in this process.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry also officially congratulated Trump on his victory, expressing respect for the choice of American voters.

Regarding the 2024 US election season, according to British media, the two US presidential candidates, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, have spent a combined total of $3.5 billion in what is considered the most expensive race in the country's history.

Data from the US shows that, as of mid-October, Harris and the Democratic Party had raised over $2.3 billion and spent $1.9 billion on campaign activities. Meanwhile, her opponent, Trump and the Republican Party, had raised over $1.8 billion and spent $1.6 billion.

Campaign finance records show that, of the $3.5 billion spent by the Democratic and Republican parties on the US presidential race, nearly half was spent on advertising and media.

Of that amount, the vast majority, nearly $1.5 billion, was spent in seven battleground states. Notably, over $400 million was spent in Pennsylvania alone, which has 19 electoral votes—more than the total amount spent in all 43 swing states combined.

Of the $1.8 billion he received, Trump spent approximately $100 million, or 14% of the total, on legal fees.

Meanwhile, the nonpartisan political finance watchdog OpenSecrets reported that $5.5 billion had been spent on the 2024 White House race.

According to this organization, over the past 20 years, the cost of US presidential elections has increased by nearly 114%, with campaign expenses soaring from $2.57 billion in 2000 to $5.51 billion in 2024.
