The representative of the program's Organizing Committee said that during the historic days of April, Vietnam joyfully celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day with many meaningful activities.

As one of the countries that have experienced war and colonization, the Vietnamese people always cherish the values of peace, and are increasingly aware of the significance of the victory of peace-loving forces and the spirit of solidarity among nations around the world.

The victory over fascism opened up opportunities for many countries in Europe and Asia to rise up and eliminate the shackles of colonialism, build and gradually form a global socialist system.

The Soviet Union, as a leading force, not only contributed to protecting world peace but also became a spiritual and material support for the national liberation movement in many places, including Indochina - where the Vietnamese people rose up to regain independence and freedom after decades of domination.

Throughout nearly a century, the former Soviet Union (now the Russian Federation) has always accompanied the Vietnamese people in the struggle for independence, national liberation, national reunification and in building socialism.

Russia is not only a great friend in politics, defense, and economy, but also a cradle that nurtures the souls of many generations of Vietnamese people with a culture imbued with humanity, depth, and generosity.
