The Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Committee reviews the draft Resolution submitted to the Provincial People's Council.

On the morning of August 26, the Culture - Social Committee of the Provincial People's Council organized the review of the draft Resolution submitted to the thematic session (22nd session) of the Provincial People's Council. Attending the review session was comrade Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.

Specifically, the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Affairs Committee reviewed the Resolution "Regulating a number of policies to support Ethnic Boarding Schools and High Schools implementing the ethnic boarding school model for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas in Nghe An province".

Head of the Ethnic Committee of the Provincial People's Council Lo Thi Kim Ngan spoke at the meeting.

Deputy Head of the Culture - Social Committee, Provincial People's Council Luc Thi Lien spoke at the meeting.

According to the draft Resolution, some contents and expenditure levels are added. That is the policy to support funding for implementing programs to enhance foreign languages, information technology, STEM education, life skills, and life values; support level of 100,000 VND/teaching period; maximum of 5 periods/week/class and no more than 27 weeks/school year; support funding for purchasing textbooks to build shared bookcases for each student to borrow 1 set of books corresponding to each class the student is attending; support level of 50,000 VND/student/year; estimated funding in 2024 is more than 8.2 billion VND, from 2025 onwards is nearly 18.5 billion VND.

Giving opinions on the draft, delegates emphasized the necessity of the Resolution to concretize the province's policy on developing education and training in mountainous areas; At the same time, create a legal corridor for the effective implementation of policies for high school students with permanent residence in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions of the province to stay in boarding schools; Increase the rate of student mobilization in this area to contribute to the development of general education equally among regions; improve the quality of comprehensive education for students in high schools; Create human resources, especially in ethnic minority and particularly difficult areas.

Unanimously approving the content of the draft Resolution, the Committee for Culture and Society, the Provincial People's Council requested the drafting agency to incorporate the delegates' comments and suggestions to supplement and adjust the scope, applicable subjects, support policies, and perfect the format of the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council. The Department of Education and Training needs to review and compare the regulations on recognizing schools that meet the regulations to benefit from this policy and complete the documents to submit to the upcoming Provincial People's Council meeting.

Also at the review session, the Culture - Social Committee, the Provincial People's Council unanimously approved the draft Resolution on adjusting the investment policy of the project to invest in the construction of a wastewater and waste treatment system for hospitals in Nghe An province, using ODA loans from the German Government./.
