
Vietnam's gold medals came from shooting, karate, bowling, swimming, and women's football. Shooting started the day successfully with a double gold medal win, while also setting two SEA Games records.
In the women's 10m air pistol team event, the trio of Trinh Thu Vinh, Nguyen Thuy Trang, and Trieu Thi Hoa Hong won with 1,711 points, surpassing Thailand and Malaysia. Following that, Trinh Thu Vinh brilliantly won the gold medal in the women's 10m air pistol individual event with 242.7 points, just one point ahead of her teammate Nguyen Thuy Trang.
In Karate, the Vietnamese women's team, consisting of athletes Nguyen Thi Dieu Ly, Hoang Thi My Tam, and Nguyen Thi Thu, won the gold medal in the women's team kumite event after defeating Thailand 2-0 in the final.

Bowling saw a surprise as Tran Hoang Khoi defeated his Thai opponent to win the gold medal in the men's singles. In swimming, Pham Thanh Bao successfully defended his gold medal in the men's 200m breaststroke with a time of 2 minutes 12.81 seconds.
In women's football, the Vietnamese team defeated Indonesia 5-0, securing their place in the SEA Games gold medal final.
As of December 14th, the Vietnamese sports delegation had won a total of 35 gold medals, 32 silver medals, and 63 bronze medals, continuing to rank behind Thailand and Indonesia in the overall medal standings.
