Mohammed Touhid Hossain, the foreign affairs adviser to Bangladesh's interim government, said that as cases against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina escalate, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Law might consider extraditing her, but that would create a “difficult situation for the Indian government.”

Hossain made these comments during an exclusive interview with Reuters TV in Dhaka.
Mr. Hossain also stated that the interim government of Bangladesh, headed by Mohammad Yunus, was "very unhappy" with the way India had made statements regarding former Prime Minister Hasina.
According to sources, the interim government of Bangladesh has revoked the passports of former Prime Minister Hasina and her advisors, former Cabinet members, and all members of the 12th Parliament. The authorities have also revoked the diplomatic passports of their spouses and children.
Hasina resigned and fled to India on August 5th, following a student-led uprising against her.
According to the Dhaka Tribune , a complaint has been filed against Hasina and 24 others have been filed with the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands, alleging human rights violations.
Bangladesh is currently facing political instability following Sheikh Hasina's resignation and departure from the country. Regarding the possibility of holding elections in Bangladesh, the interim government's Foreign Affairs Advisor stated that a more specific timeline will be provided in September.
