Closing ceremony of traditional sports and folk games festival of Son La ethnic groups

VHO - As part of a series of events celebrating the 130th anniversary of the founding of Son La province, on October 10, at Tay Bac Square, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Son La held the closing ceremony of the Traditional Sports and Folk Games Competition of Ethnic Groups after 3 days of excitement, suspense, and attraction, attracting a large number of spectators to watch and cheer.

The organizing committee awarded medals to athletes with high achievements in the competitions.

The competition of traditional sports and ethnic folk games took place from October 8-10, with the participation of more than 150 athletes from Chieng An, Chieng Coi, To Hieu and Chieng Sinh wards. The athletes competed in 5 traditional sports: tug of war, stick pushing, to mak le, throwing con and crossbow shooting, imbued with traditional cultural identity, associated with the working life and production of the ethnic people of Son La province.

According to the Organizing Committee, the delegations have made careful preparations and carefully selected athletes. The athletes have been well-trained, have good technical skills, and are physically fit. Many athletes have experience, compete with enthusiasm and confidence, and contribute to exciting and attractive competitions, attracting a large audience to watch and cheer.

This is not only an opportunity for athletes to exchange, learn and improve their health, but also an opportunity to honor, preserve and promote the unique traditional cultural and sports values ​​of the ethnic groups of Son La.

As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded 16 sets of gold, silver and bronze medals to individuals and groups of athletes with high achievements in the competitions.
