Closing ceremony of the Tay and Nung ethnic lion dance practice and performance class in Bac Son commune, Lang Son province

On October 23, 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province coordinated with the People's Committee of Bac Son commune, Bac Son Middle and High School for Ethnic Minorities Boarding School to organize the closing ceremony of the practical teaching class, lion dance performance and announce the Decision to establish and launch the Tay and Nung ethnic lion dance club of Bac Son Middle and High School for Ethnic Minorities Boarding School.

The teaching class is one of the contents of Plan No. 64/KH-SVHTTDL dated March 11, 2025 of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on implementing the Project "Preserving and promoting the value of lion dance of Tay and Nung ethnic groups in Lang Son province in the period of 2021-2030" in 2025 with a total of 33 students, mainly students of Bac Son Ethnic Boarding Secondary School and High School.

The teaching class helped students learn more about the origin, meaning, practical skills and performance of the Tay and Nung ethnic lion dance with dances such as: worshiping the local god and the gods; drum ceremony; lion hunting dance; happy dance with some traditional martial arts... contributing to preserving, conserving and promoting the value of the unique intangible cultural heritage of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups. In particular, with the enthusiasm and dedication of the teaching artists and the active learning spirit of the students, the class was a success, with practical significance for the mass cultural and artistic movement in the community and school.

At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee announced Decision No. 720/QD-SVHTTDL dated October 17, 2025 of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on granting Certificates of Completion of the Course to artisans and students. At the same time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented 02 sets of lion dance props to Bac Son Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities.
