On the evening of December 16, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Quang Tri province held the closing ceremony of the 2024 Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Festival after 4 exciting days with many unique cultural, tourism and sports activities.
With the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of Vietnamese ethnic groups with equality, solidarity, respect, integration and development for a peaceful world ", the 2024 Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Festival was successful and left many good impressions.
Artisans, actors, and athletes of ethnic groups from 16 provinces and cities across the country gathered in Quang Tri, bringing to the Festival unique cultural features from performing arts, costumes, cuisine, sports, etc.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Nhung, Director of the Department of Ethnic Culture - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Organizing Committee of the 2024 Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Festival affirmed: The festival was successfully held, ensuring the right purpose, requirements and meeting the common aspirations of the ethnic people in the big family of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups.
Although the weather affected some activities during the festival, especially outdoor activities, it did not dampen the excitement and enthusiasm of the actors, artists, and fans - the cultural subjects of 16 provinces and cities attending.
“The festival took place as planned, ensuring safety in all aspects, creating an exciting atmosphere of solidarity, evoking pride in traditional cultural values so that ethnic people can raise awareness, consciousness and understanding to preserve the precious cultural heritage of their nation,” Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Nhung emphasized.
According to the Organizing Committee, the participating delegations have prepared and invested carefully in the activities at the Festival. At the mass art festival, 16 delegations performed 64 elaborately and methodically staged performances by the artisans and artists themselves.
The diverse and colorful performance forms reflect the typical cultural features of each region; conveying profound messages about love for the homeland, respect for the Party, love for Uncle Ho, solidarity among ethnic communities, village and neighborhood love, etc.
The Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival is a connecting thread to build solidarity between localities, artisan groups, and mass actors of the provinces. This is also an opportunity for the cultural identity of ethnic groups to be spread and shared widely.
Ms. Ha Thi Hang, Son La delegation said: Through the Festival, we introduced and promoted to friends the cultural identity of 12 ethnic groups in Son La to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of our province.
At the closing ceremony of the festival, excellent performances were also performed by artisans, bringing many special emotions and impressions to the audience. The dance performance Canh chim dai ngan by artisans and actors of Van Kieu and Pa Co ethnic groups in Quang Tri province; the percussion performance Am vang dai ngan by Thai ethnic group in Thanh Hoa province; the dance performance Xuc top by Cao Lan ethnic group in Vinh Phuc province; or Tha Khenh dance ( pipe dance) by Mong ethnic group in Son La province; and the bamboo musical instrument performance by Gia Rai ethnic group in Gia Lai province.
Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam expressed his hope that after this Festival, the spirit of solidarity and exchange among ethnic groups, provinces and cities will continue to be maintained and developed. Units will continue to meet each other in Festivals held in other localities to continue spreading the quintessence of cultural values of Vietnamese ethnic groups.
“Returning to Quang Tri province, in addition to participating in the activities of the 2024 Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival, delegates, artisans, actors, and athletes of the delegations had gratitude activities, visited historical sites and scenic spots in the area. The Organizing Committee of the 2024 Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival has awarded many prizes to units according to the content of the activities. For the mass cultural and artistic festival, there were 22 A prizes, 23 B prizes and 19 C prizes awarded to the performances. Regarding the performance of traditional ethnic costumes, there were 5 A prizes, 6 B prizes and 5 C prizes.
Regarding the performance of festival excerpts and traditional cultural rituals of local ethnic groups, the Organizing Committee awarded 5 A prizes, 6 B prizes, and 5 C prizes to the units. Regarding the display, preparation, and introduction of traditional ethnic cuisine, there were 5 A prizes, 6 B prizes, and 2 C prizes.
The exhibition content introduces and promotes local traditional culture, with 5 A prizes, 6 B prizes and 4 C prizes awarded to the delegations; tourism activities have 5 A prizes, 6 B prizes and 2 C prizes.
In sports activities, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize to the Dak Lak delegation along with 3 Second Prizes, 5 Third Prizes and 3 Consolation Prizes.
On this occasion, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded Certificates of Merit to 22 collectives and 7 individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing the Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival 2024.
On December 16, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province also decided to award Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 5 collectives and 7 individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing the Festival.
