Fire drill at Lang Son Lung Hospital
Speaking at the drill, Mr. Nguyen Son Hieu, Deputy Director of the hospital, emphasized: “Fire prevention and control drills are not only a mandatory requirement according to regulations but also a practical activity to ensure the safety of patients, medical staff, and the property of the unit. Each individual mastering incident handling skills is a decisive factor in preventing and minimizing damage when fires and explosions occur.”
The drill was designed to closely follow a real-life scenario. The on-site fire fighting force quickly deployed teams to: report the fire, guide evacuations, rescue people, move property, and organize initial firefighting using powder extinguishers and fire hydrants. Immediately afterward, the professional fire fighting force arrived at the scene, controlled the fire, and safely rescued the victims according to established tactics.

Practicing rescuing victims during the drill.
Through this drill, the hospital assessed the effectiveness of its equipment, improved the situational handling skills and sense of responsibility of all staff and employees in fire prevention and control. At the same time, it helped the hospital's fire fighting and rescue team understand and become familiar with the command and control mechanisms for forces and equipment involved in handling fire, explosion, and accident incidents; understand the dangerous nature of fires and explosions and the potential for fire spread; and thus develop tactics, techniques, and methods for extinguishing fires when they occur, improving response capabilities and ensuring a safe and reliable healthcare environment for the public.
