According to Gaming Bolt , one of the most notable surprises at this year's The Game Awards was Arkane Lyon's next big game. While many fans were anticipating Dishonored 3 or Deathloop 2 , the studio revealed Marvel's Blade – a third-person single-player action-adventure game set in Paris, marking a major shift for the studio.

However, Arkane Lyon is a game developer for Bethesda Softworks, which is owned by Microsoft. Therefore, the question has been raised whether Marvel's Blade will be released exclusively for Xbox Series X/S. The gaming website VG247 asked Bethesda to clarify this (as the game trailer doesn't specify which platform it will be coming to), but the company declined to comment.

This isn't the first time an upcoming game from a Microsoft-owned studio has been questioned regarding its exclusivity. Obsidian Entertainment's The Outer Worlds 2 was announced for Xbox Series X/S and PC at E3 2021, but Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty said they haven't decided on the game's exclusivity in a recent lawsuit with the FTC.

Currently, regarding exclusivity on the Xbox console, Microsoft is set to release Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 in 2024, following Towerborne and Ara: History Untold .
