According to Gaming Bolt , one of the biggest surprises at this year's The Game Awards was Arkane Lyon's next big game. While many fans were expecting Dishonored 3 or Deathloop 2 , the studio revealed Marvel's Blade - a third-person single-player action-adventure set in Paris, marking a major change for the studio.

However, Arkane Lyon is a game developer owned by Bethesda Softworks, which is owned by Microsoft. So, the question has been raised as to whether Marvel's Blade will be an Xbox Series X/S exclusive. Gaming site VG247 asked Bethesda for clarification (since the game's trailer doesn't specify which platforms it will be coming to), but the company declined to comment.

This isn't the first time an upcoming title from a Microsoft-owned studio has been questioned about exclusivity. Obsidian Entertainment's The Outer Worlds 2 was announced for Xbox Series X/S and PC at E3 2021, but Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty said they haven't decided on the game's exclusivity in a recent lawsuit with the FTC.
Currently, on the Xbox console exclusivity front, Microsoft's upcoming games are Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 coming in 2024, following Towerborne and Ara: History Untold .
