On the evening of December 26th, the opening ceremony of the 2nd Me Linh Flower Festival - 2024, along with trade promotion and tourism and cultural promotion activities for Me Linh district, took place at the square of the Me Linh district administrative center.

Attending the opening ceremony were Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee, and Head of the Hanoi City National Assembly Delegation Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Central Committee members: Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh, President of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyen, and President of the Vietnam Farmers' Association Luong Quoc Doan. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Festival, the Secretary of the Me Linh District Party Committee, Nguyen Thanh Liem, said that building on the success of the first Flower Festival, this year's festival is organized on a scale of nearly 10,000 square meters, taking place from December 26th to 29th. The highlight of the Festival is the 10 main flower modules and 8 miniature landscapes arranged and designed by artisans according to different themes and decorated with flowers grown in Me Linh, combined with lighting technology to create a modern and vibrant space.

The 2nd Me Linh Flower Festival is also an opportunity for Me Linh to affirm its position as an attractive tourist destination, a land rich in historical, cultural, and revolutionary traditions - the homeland of the heroic Trung Sisters. The festival promises to become an event promoting tourism, contributing to socio- economic development, preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values ​​of Me Linh district to friends both domestically and internationally…

During the four days of the Festival, Me Linh district also organized many vibrant and meaningful activities, such as: a competition to decorate bicycles with flowers made from recycled materials; a painting competition; pasting and assembling a "giant" picture from flowers; English Festival activities for students; and a fashion show of traditional Vietnamese ao dai dresses titled "Me Linh, Radiant with Flowers". The festival features a spectacular cultural program from various sectors and organizations, as well as vibrant performances by street bands and circus artists. Notably, within the framework of the Festival, the People's Committee of Me Linh District, in coordination with the Hanoi City Center for Investment, Trade Promotion, and Tourism, is organizing a "Trade Promotion Fair" with over 100 booths showcasing agricultural products, OCOP products, and traditional craft products from Hanoi and 30 provinces and cities nationwide. This is also an opportunity to promote the cultural and historical image of Hanoi in general and Me Linh District in particular; to act as a bridge for trade between producers and businesses and consumers; and to stimulate demand and promote the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign.

Me Linh District recognizes this as a large-scale cultural, tourism, and trade promotion event of significant importance in stimulating the consumption of flowers and agricultural products, contributing to improving the income and living standards of the people; at the same time, it demonstrates the spirit of innovation, creativity, and the aspiration to reach new heights and make strong breakthroughs for Me Linh in the "New Era - the era of national progress".
