More specifically, this year is also the occasion of Vinh University's 65th anniversary (1959 - 2024). From a small branch newly established with 2 faculties of Mathematics and Literature, up to now, Vinh University has become a multidisciplinary university, with prestige in the country. In the 2023 - 2024 school year, all aspects of the school's work have exceeded the plan.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung stated that Resolution 39 of the Politburo on the development of Nghe An province in the new period has determined to develop Vinh University into a prestigious training center in the region and the world. In addition, Vinh University also sets the goal of becoming a smart university, ranked in the top 500 in Asia by 2030, aiming for the top 1,000 universities in the world by 2045. To achieve the set goals, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung said that the school needs to promote the spirit of solidarity, internal unity and when the idea is clear, it must be focused, determined, and implemented with focus, not scattered.
