Minister and Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs, Hau A Lenh, and leaders of Da Nang city presented Certificates of Merit and Commendations to 10 collectives and 49 individuals for their outstanding achievements in implementing the Party and State's ethnic affairs and ethnic policies.


On November 15th, the Da Nang City People's Committee organized the 2nd Conference to Commend Representatives of Ethnic Minorities in 2024.

Information presented at the conference indicated that Da Nang has 31 ethnic minority groups living there, comprising approximately 5,880 people. Of these, the Hoa ethnic group accounts for 46.8% (2,753 people), the Co Tu ethnic group accounts for 27% (1,581 people, mainly residing in Ta Lang village, Gian Bi village, Hoa Bac commune and Phu Tuc village, Hoa Phu commune of Hoa Vang district), and 29 other ethnic minority groups account for 26.2% (1,546 people); there are also 194 officials, civil servants, and employees working in agencies and units within the city.

Over the years, the lives of ethnic minority people in Da Nang have stabilized and undergone positive changes. Throughout the province, between 70% and 100% of ethnic minority households escaped poverty during the periods 2019-2021 and 2022-2025.

Along with preserving and restoring festivals, traditional crafts such as brocade weaving, basket weaving, rice wine making, and wood carving of the Co Tu ethnic group in Hoa Bac and Hoa Phu communes, during the period 2019-2023, Da Nang city provided 100% tuition fee support for children of ethnic minority households in these two communes.

Students from ethnic minority communities in Hoa Bac and Hoa Phu districts also receive 100% support for health insurance premiums under the family category code (GD4). Students from poor households according to the city's standards receive a monthly allowance of 150,000 VND per student.

In his remarks at the conference, Minister and Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs, Hau A Lenh, highly appreciated the achievements of the Party Committee, government, and people of Da Nang in caring for the lives and preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minority communities.

Mr. Hau A Lenh particularly commended and acknowledged the efforts of ethnic minority people in Da Nang, contributing alongside the people of the whole country in the current process of renovation, development, and national defense.

The Minister and Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs requested that the Party Committees and authorities of Da Nang city continue to thoroughly understand the Party and State's guidelines and policies on ethnic affairs, national unity, and ethnic policies; be creative, decisive, and implement many breakthrough, focused, and targeted solutions to effectively achieve the targets of national target programs; and participate in proposing initiatives to build the National Target Program for socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, phase II (2026-2030).

Mr. Hau A Lenh also suggested that Party committees, government agencies, the Fatherland Front, mass organizations, and social organizations in Da Nang pay more attention to preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values, tangible and intangible cultural heritage of ethnic minorities, and eliminating outdated customs...

At the conference, Minister and Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs, Hau A Lenh, presented Certificates of Commendation to one collective and five individuals.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of the city awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 23 individuals; the Office of the People's Committee of the city awarded Certificates of Commendation to 4 collectives and 21 individuals from ethnic minority groups for their outstanding achievements in implementing the Party and State's ethnic affairs and ethnic policies.
