Luyen's parents set a trap for their own daughter.
The review of episode 38 of "Life Is Still Beautiful," which aired on the evening of June 27th, reveals a scene where Luyen's (Thanh Huong) biological parents come to her poor neighborhood to force her to save Bat (Tuan Anh), their eldest grandson, from imprisonment.
Knowing that their son had been arrested, Luyen's parents came from their hometown and demanded that she give them money to get her brother released from prison, but Luyen resolutely refused.
In response to her parents' suggestion, Luyen flatly refused, saying, "With Bat being arrested like that, he might have a chance to become a better person. You two should just go back to your hometown."
Seeing this, Luyen's father reminded his daughter, "How can you say that? Bat is your younger brother, the eldest grandson of the family, so he can't be arrested. That's why your parents came here today to ask you to take care of him and raise money to get him out of prison."
"I'll tell you straight up, I have no responsibility here. If you want to, you two can take care of yourselves," Luyen said angrily before storming off. Seeing their daughter's determination, her parents chased after her, making a scene. However, Luu (Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai) arrived in time to stop them.
Meanwhile, Luyen's parents began plotting to trap their own daughter. They planned to spread rumors that their daughter had neglected them, claiming they had only eaten instant noodles for days. In reality, however, they had secretly bought chicken to eat without anyone knowing. Standing outside, Luyen overheard the entire conversation and was heartbroken to learn of her parents' scheme.
Luyen was heartbroken to learn that her parents had set a trap for her.
Thach wants to take a year off from school.
Also in episode 28 of "Life Is Still Beautiful," seeing his father working so hard, Thach (Viet Hoang) wants to ask Luu to let him take a year off from school. However, Luu firmly refuses and asserts: "Your job is to focus on your studies, don't waste your life like your father."
Thach wanted to ask his father for permission to take a year off from school, but Luu disagreed.
At this point, Hoa (Anh Tho) accidentally overheard the conversation between the father and son and felt guilty, so she asked Luyen about the debt owed by Luu and his father. Seeing Hoa's unusual question, Luyen wondered, "You told me never to mention Luu and his father in front of you. Now you're asking me about everything?"
What will Luyen do to get her biological parents back to their hometown? Will Hoa be able to help Luu and his father? The answers will be revealed in episode 38 of the drama "Life Is Still Beautiful," airing tonight, June 27th, on VTV3.
