
In a letter to all cadres, workers and employees of the road sector, Minister Tran Hong Minh emphasized that provinces such as Dien Bien, Son La, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Bac Ninh , Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue and a number of other localities have suffered heavy damage to road infrastructure. Many main national highways, local national highways and local roads have been eroded, flooded, causing serious congestion.
Implementing the direction of the Party, Government and Prime Minister , the road sector has not been afraid of difficulties and has urgently deployed response measures. The collective of cadres, employees and workers of the road sector has focused on handling traffic jams, repairing damaged infrastructure, especially prioritizing routes serving rescue and connecting isolated residential areas.
"Your tireless efforts have made an important contribution to maintaining safe and smooth road traffic, serving socio- economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and transporting essential goods for the people," the Minister noted in the letter.
Minister Tran Hong Minh, on behalf of the Party Committee Standing Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Construction, praised the bravery, dedication and "devotion" of the cadres and employees of the road sector. The Minister emphasized that putting the interests of the country and the people above all else is a testament to the noble qualities of this force, and will be a source of motivation spreading throughout the sector to excellently complete the task.
The Minister also expressed his gratitude to local authorities, functional forces and people in the affected areas. The timely coordination and support from all parties have created favorable conditions for the road sector to complete the task of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
Regarding the upcoming work, the Minister requested that road agencies and units pay more attention to officers and employees performing their duties, ensuring safety equipment, accommodation conditions and benefits according to regulations. In the face of complex weather forecasts, he called for continued promotion of responsibility, improved forecasting, 24/7 on-call duty; increased inspection of landslide risks; and readiness to mobilize forces to participate in rescue operations at affected projects.
"I firmly believe that, with the spirit of 'going first to pave the way' regardless of difficulties, you will continue to maintain smooth traffic flow in all situations," Minister Tran Hong Minh affirmed.
