Ministry of Construction inspects Long Thanh airport and Bien Hoa

At the project construction site, Minister Tran Hong Minh assessed that in recent times, the units have made many efforts, overcome difficulties, and ensured project progress. At the same time, he requested the investor and contractor of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway to continue to focus resources, absolutely keep the commitment to complete the project on schedule, complete all tasks; gather enough raw materials, especially construction stones, so that when the dry season begins, they will concentrate on construction day and night.

For Long Thanh airport, to achieve the goal of welcoming the first technical flight on December 19, 2025, the contractor needs to focus on completing key items such as the access road from T1 to Long Thanh airport passenger terminal and the runway. In addition to speeding up the progress, units must strengthen supervision and ensure the quality of the project. Vietnam Airports Corporation will coordinate with relevant units to urgently complete procedures to deploy investment in the third runway as well as phase 2 of Long Thanh airport - the Minister emphasized.

According to Vietnam Airports Corporation, the units are currently mobilizing about 17,000 workers and machines to construct "3 shifts, 4 crews" at Long Thanh airport packages, ensuring project progress. In particular, the complex items are technical tunnels (underground constructions built below ground to contain cable systems and technical pipes) have completed about 20 out of a total of nearly 22 km.

The construction of the passenger terminal has been basically completed. The contractor is completing the roofing at the wing and central areas; steel structure at the telescopic bridge; installing glass walls; stone tiling; construction of electrical, water supply and drainage, fire protection systems; some equipment at the terminal is being installed. Runway 1 is basically completed.

Bidding packages such as: fuel supply system; parking garage; installation and supply of airport management system equipment; construction of cargo terminal No. 1 and auxiliary works; second runway; connecting traffic are 3 to 6 months ahead of schedule.

According to Project Management Board 85 - the investor of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Component 2, the Component 2 Project is more than 18 km long, and the construction output has reached more than 70% of the contract value. The road section has basically completed the K95 earth embankment, and is in the process of grading crushed stone, cement reinforcement, and asphalt concrete. The bridge system on the route has basically completed bored piles, piers, and cast all beam slabs. Over the past 3 months, heavy rain has caused difficulties for the construction process, especially the roadbed embankment.
