Four people injured in knife attack in Sydney, Australia

The incident occurred after a traffic accident. The scene took place in the Engadine area, a suburb in the south of Sydney. After the incident, a man suspected of running from the scene was restrained by police using a stun gun and arrested. Fortunately, no one was killed in this incident.

Following a recent increase in knife attacks, the New South Wales government has tightened its knife laws. Police can now use metal detectors to search people without a warrant in public places such as shopping centres, stadiums and public transport stations.

Images from the scene showed two cars rammed and cordoned off by police. It was one of the most high-profile attacks since a knife attack in the Bondi area in April that left six people dead and 12 injured.
