Yesterday, Duc Long Gia Lai (DLGL), the reigning Vietnamese champions, arrived in the Philippines to prepare for the 2014 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship.

The entire team appeared confident and showed great determination, fulfilling their promise at the send-off ceremony that they would give their all, win or lose, to live up to the fans' expectations. The only minor setback was that after helping Maseco Ho Chi Minh City win the Ca Mau Fertilizer Super Cup a few days ago, outside hitter Tu Thanh Thuan showed signs of a muscle strain. Therefore, his participation in the DLGL team remains uncertain.
In their first match at 4 PM tomorrow, April 8th, DLGL will face Zahra Club from Lebanon. This is a manageable opponent, so coach Bui Quang Ngoc confidently set a goal of winning. Meanwhile, team owner Bui Phap affirmed: “DLGL is ready to create a surprise. In previous years, due to a lack of funding and insufficient strength, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation sent the national team to fill the club's role. This time, DLGL is determined to leave a strong impression at this tournament.”
