Large businesses such as Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group ( VNPT ) and Vingroup have announced support packages to help people in many localities affected by Typhoon No. 3 and prolonged heavy rains and floods quickly stabilize their lives.
On September 12th, in Hanoi , the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) held a ceremony to launch a fundraising campaign to support localities affected by Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi) and announced a support package worth 50 billion VND to help overcome the consequences of this typhoon.
Of that amount, 25 billion VND is in kind (contributed by VNPT's employees, each contributing one day's salary, and from VNPT's Social Policy Fund) and 25 billion VND is in services provided by VNPT to support people in flood-affected areas.

As a leading telecommunications and IT infrastructure provider with a nationwide network, VNPT was also one of the businesses that suffered heavy losses during the storms and floods. However, to maintain communication for the people and serve the government at all levels in their operational work during natural disasters and floods, VNPT mobilized 100% of its personnel in the affected areas, keeping them on standby for rescue and incident response.
Over the past few days, almost all of VNPT's staff and employees have been working tirelessly to combat the storm and floods. Thousands of VNPT personnel from various provinces and cities are being deployed to affected areas to join hands in rescue efforts and quickly restore the network to serve the people and the government.
On the afternoon of September 12th, Vingroup and its affiliated companies announced a donation of 250 billion VND to support people affected by Super Typhoon Yagi and prolonged heavy rains and floods.
The funds will be allocated directly to emergency relief activities such as rebuilding approximately 2,000 collapsed houses, providing support of 150-300 million VND to families with deceased members, contributing to the reconstruction of infrastructure and public works… helping people quickly stabilize their lives after the natural disaster.
The budget is mobilized from two sources: funds from the Group and its member companies, and voluntary contributions from over 130,000 Vingroup employees across the entire system. Depending on the actual situation, the Emergency Relief Fund will be used to rebuild approximately 2,000 houses for families who lost their homes in the recent storms and floods, and provide support ranging from 150 to 300 million VND for each family with a deceased member due to the natural disaster.
The remaining funds will be used to support families with injured members or those who have suffered significant losses to crops and livestock, as well as to assist in cleanup efforts and contribute to the reconstruction of essential infrastructure serving the community.
