The best way to brew coffee to reduce visceral fat.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Coffee can help you stay alert, but did you know that by simply changing the brewing method, this familiar beverage can also effectively help reduce visceral fat?

How to brew coffee to optimize the effectiveness of reducing visceral fat.

A new study from Denmark published in the journal MDPI suggests that the compound cafestol in coffee may aid in reducing visceral fat if used in the right dosage, but caution is still needed for those at risk of cardiovascular disease.

In the 12-week study, 40 participants consumed 6mg of cafestol daily, divided into two doses, equivalent to about 2 to 4 cups of coffee.

The results showed an average reduction of 0.88 kg in body weight and 5% in visceral fat, along with a significant improvement in liver function indicators.

Remarkably, participants did not need to change their diet or increase their exercise to achieve positive effects from drinking coffee properly.

Cafestol is a fat-soluble compound found abundantly in unfiltered coffee – coffee brewed without using a paper or cloth filter to remove oils and grounds.

Popular brewing methods include French press, moka pot, and Turkish coffee (Ibrik). Unlike regular filter coffee, these types of coffee retain all the natural oils and the compound cafestol, thus offering the potential to support the reduction of visceral fat.

However, experts warn against overuse of cafestol.

The dosage in the study did not increase cholesterol. However, many previous studies have shown that consuming more than 10mg of cafestol per day over a long period can increase LDL cholesterol – also known as bad cholesterol – thereby affecting cardiovascular health.

Individuals with a history of high blood lipid levels or cardiovascular disease should carefully consider and may need regular blood lipid tests to monitor their body's reaction to this method.

Not only the dosage, but also the way it's consumed affects its effectiveness. Instead of drinking it all at once, users should sip it slowly and drink enough water throughout the day to limit dehydration caused by the diuretic effect of coffee.

Choosing the right brewing equipment is also important; a French Press, moka pot, or iBrik is preferred, and regular paper filter machines should be avoided as they remove almost all of the cafestol.

Don't overuse coffee for weight loss.

Despite its potential to aid weight loss, health experts emphasize that coffee is not a primary method for weight management.

Cafestol should only be considered a supplementary factor. For sustainable and safe weight loss, it needs to be combined with a balanced diet, prioritizing a breakfast rich in protein and vegetables, a nutritious lunch, and a light dinner with limited carbohydrates.

In parallel, regular daily exercise, such as a 15-minute brisk walk or gentle abdominal exercises, will help boost metabolism and maximize the effectiveness of burning excess fat.

Researchers say the visceral fat-reducing benefits of cafestol are a remarkable finding, opening up a new approach to weight management through small daily habits.

However, users need to understand the limits, listen to their bodies, and combine it with a healthy lifestyle to achieve sustainable results and avoid health risks.
