Can Tho connects trade with Australian businesses at the 2025 Autumn Fair

Receiving the delegation, representatives of the Can Tho Investment - Trade Promotion and Exhibition Fair Center (Center) introduced information about the new Can Tho city as well as the potential and investment cooperation opportunities, especially in the city's trade sector. Can Tho city's main export items to Australia are rice, seafood, garments, agricultural products and processed agricultural products; the main import item is wheat. However, trade activities between the two sides are still not commensurate with the potential and advantages.

At the reception, the Center also informed the delegation about the meaningful activities that Can Tho City has effectively coordinated with the Australian Consulate General in recent times, such as planting friendship trees at Hau River Park and activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Representatives of participating businesses at the Can Tho City booth introduced typical products, commercial products, OCOP products, local specialty products with intellectual property protection, start-up and innovative products.

Some of the prominent brands selected for introduction include export products of Cuu Long Fruit Garden Joint Stock Company, 5-star OCOP products of Ho Quang Tri Private Enterprise (ST25 rice), processed agricultural seeds of DG Foods Company Limited, soursop tea of Sumo Food Vietnam Company Limited, natural herbal instant teas of Hygie & Panacee Company Limited, pia cakes and Chinese sausages of Tan Hue Vien Pia Cake - Chinese sausages Food Processing Company Limited, Van Loc pineapple jam, Probelife CT purple rice milk, noni tea...

After listening to Can Tho City's introduction, a representative of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AusCham Vietnam) - an organization representing the Australian business community operating and investing in Vietnam - expressed his desire to learn more about the new Can Tho City planning, priority policies, and projects that the city is calling for investment in.

AusCham currently has nearly 300 members who are businesses and organizations operating in key areas such as energy, education, agriculture , healthcare and specialized services... Therefore, AusCham Vietnam will be the focal point for providing information from Can Tho City to Australian businesses to enhance investment and business activities in the city.

Also participating in the Australian business delegation is Auschain Company Limited, specializing in the fields of technology, innovation, Blockchain, and the application of blockchain technology in product traceability. In particular, the company has many cooperation contracts and supports Vietnamese agricultural products. At the meeting, the company representative hopes to seek and expand the market in Vietnam, support businesses and people in provinces and localities to promote the application of technology in product traceability, and support export activities.

The Center invited AusCham Vietnam and the Australian business delegation to visit the city to organize forums connecting businesses between Can Tho City and Australia, as well as organize cultural and trade exchange events... to further promote the friendly relationship and trade cooperation between Can Tho City and Australia in the coming time.
