FORECAST OF HEAVY RAINFALL IN THE NORTH-CENTRAL REGION

Rainfall developments over the past 24 hours: Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces experienced no rain and sunny weather. Ha Tinh province had scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Forecast of heavy rainfall over the next 24 to 48 hours:

Ha Tinh: From today until October 19th, there will be moderate to heavy rain, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain and thunderstorms. Rainfall amounts will generally range from 50-150mm, with some areas exceeding 200mm.

Thanh Hoa : On October 19th, there will be moderate to heavy rain, with very heavy rain and thunderstorms in some areas. Rainfall amounts will generally range from 20-50mm, with some places exceeding 100mm.

Nghe An Province: On October 19th, there will be moderate to heavy rain, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain and thunderstorms. Rainfall amounts will generally range from 20-50mm, with some areas exceeding 100mm, such as Vinh City, Nghi Loc District, Hung Nguyen District, and Cua Lo Town...

Cloudy skies, with occasional rain, showers, and possibly thunderstorms. North to northeast winds, force 3.

- Temperature: 24 – 29°C

- Humidity: 80 – 90%

* Cua Lo and Ngu Island area

Cloudy skies, with occasional rain, showers, and possibly thunderstorms. North to northeast winds, force 4-5.

- Temperature: 24 – 27°C

- Humidity: 85 – 90%

* Next 48 hours: Affected by a weak strengthening continental high-pressure system, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), with its axis passing through Central Vietnam and connecting with a tropical depression (potentially strengthening into a typhoon), is gradually shifting northward. Therefore, the weather will be cloudy with rain, moderate rain, and in some places heavy rain and thunderstorms. North to northeast winds will be at level 3, with some coastal areas experiencing winds at level 4.

* During the thunderstorm, there is a possibility of tornadoes, waterspouts, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.
