At the Southeast Asian Championship, Vietnam Canoeing won 3 gold medals and 2 bronze medals. The 3 gold medals were won by rower Pham Hong Quan (C1 500m event); the pair Nguyen Thi Huong - Diep Thi Huong competed well, winning the gold medal in the C2 500m event. The remaining gold medal was won by athletes Ma Thi Thuy and Nguyen Thi Huong in the women's 200m double sculls event.

Impressive competition results are not only the result of individual efforts, but also demonstrate the effectiveness of systematic and strategic investment by the Vietnamese sports industry. These achievements are an important stepping stone for Vietnam Canoeing before major tournaments such as the 33rd SEA Games, scheduled to be held in Thailand at the end of 2025.

Notably, Canoeing continues to be one of the key sports that Thailand has included in the official competition program at this SEA Games, bringing a golden opportunity for Vietnamese sports to affirm their position.

Not only winning medals, Vietnamese rowers also showed their bravery when facing strong opponents in the region such as Thailand, Indonesia... Competing in three major tournaments in the same week but still maintaining top form shows careful preparation in terms of expertise, physical strength and competitive spirit.

Besides, young athletes such as Diep Thi Huong, Nguyen Hong Thai, Ma Thi Thuy,

Phung Ngoc Diem, Mac Thi Thanh Thuy, Ma Thi Dieu Ngoc, and Ran Thi Quynh competed excellently. In particular, in the women's quad boat event, the team made history by winning the silver medal for the first time at the Asian U23 Championship. The four young girls who made this historic silver medal were Hoang Thi Huong, Bui Mai Hanh, Hoang Thi Lam, and Nguyen Thi Mai.

These are athletes who are gradually asserting their names and are ready to inherit the strength of their seniors in the long-term development strategy of Vietnamese rowing in the Asian arena.

The resounding victory in Thailand is not only the pride of Vietnamese sports, but also marks a remarkable step forward for Canoeing on the regional level.

With the right investment orientation, clear strategy and resilient competitive spirit, Canoeing Vietnam is opening up a promising development path, towards the SEA Games, Asian Games and further, the Olympics.
