White basil, also known as white jasmine grass, white water spinach, or duckweed, grows wild in damp places and rice fields. In Vietnam and some other countries, people harvest the young shoots to boil or cook in soups, hence the name "water spinach."
In traditional medicine, the whole plant of the Thai jasmine plant is harvested year-round to make medicine, used fresh or dried. According to Oriental medicine, white Thai jasmine has a sweet and mild taste, is slightly cold, has the effect of cooling, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, and reducing swelling, and the whole plant is often used as medicine.
Thai jasmine is a medicinal herb that is very effective in treating colds, respiratory infections, sore throats, acute tonsillitis, and urinary tract infections. The plant can be used fresh or dried. Dosage: 30-40g, decoction form.
According to folk experience, jasmine is also used to treat pus-filled dermatitis, detoxify venom from snake and scorpion bites, and to treat painful swelling of the knees and joints. The way to make medicine is to crush fresh jasmine and apply.
Jasmine is used to treat high blood pressure with a prescription of 60-90g fresh white jasmine, 12g fava bean flower, wash all, add 800ml of water and boil down to 300ml, drink instead of tea during the day. Each course of treatment is 10-15 days.
For those with weak livers and jaundice, use 120g of fresh white basil and 60g of lean pork to make a soup, consuming both the solids and the broth. You can eat it all at once or divide it into several portions throughout the day. This remedy helps to enhance detoxification and promote liver health.
Thài lài (a type of herb) is generally considered a mild vegetable; however, caution should be exercised when consuming it, as it should be avoided by people with weak or cold digestive systems.

Some simple remedies from the Artemisia plant
Cure sore throat
You can boil 30g of fresh Commelina communis leaves to make a decoction for drinking, or crush 90-120g of fresh leaves, extract the juice, and drink it regularly.
Treatment of acute glomerulonephritis and edema.
The patient should take 30g each of Thài Lài (Thài Lài), Cỏ Xước (Cỏ Xước), and Mã Đề (Mã Đề), boil them, and then drink the decoction.
Treats rheumatism, arthritis, and cardiac edema.
To treat rheumatism, patients should take 40g each of finely chopped Artemisia annua and red beans, cook them together, and drink the broth.
Supports the treatment of rheumatism.
40g white jasmine, washed, chopped and 40g red beans. Wash red beans, pour in 800ml water and simmer until soft. Add white jasmine and simmer for 10 minutes, add a little sugar, eat both the liquid and the beans. Each course of treatment is 5-10 days.
Treating painful, swollen boils (before they break open).
Wash fresh white basil leaves thoroughly, crush them, add a little hot wine, apply to the swollen and painful area, and bandage it in place for 2 hours. Change the dressing once a day.
In addition, the plant known as "thài lài" is also used in traditional medicine to treat upper respiratory tract inflammation, snake bites, hemoptysis, and dysentery.
