Dr. Dang Minh Tuan (nicknamed Tuan Vietkey) became the first Head of the Faculty of Microelectronics and Telecommunications, CMC University. Dr. Dang Minh Tuan, 58 years old, graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Mathematics at the VAAZ-Brno Military Academy, Czechoslovakia (now part of the Czech Republic). He received his PhD in mathematical foundations for informatics at the Institute of Military Science and Technology. He is the author of a series of research works and many technological products, of which the most familiar product to the public is the Vietkey keyboard - one of the first software to support Vietnamese typing. The Vietkey keyboard was born in 2004, when Dr. Dang Minh Tuan was working at the Institute of Military Technical Automation, to serve the electronic publishing and teleprinting projects of the largest newspaper offices in the country.

Later, when he became the Director of the CMC Institute of Technology Applications, he and his colleagues continued to launch nearly 30 technology products in the fields of AI, blockchain and semiconductor microchips. Of which, the CIVAMS facial recognition solution was ranked top 1 in Vietnam and top 12 in the world according to the assessment of the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). In 2024, the Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering Technology major under the Faculty of Microelectronics and Telecommunications will begin enrolling with an expected quota of 80 students in the first year. According to Dr. Dang Minh Tuan, CMC University has an advantage in training semiconductor microchip design. The school belongs to CMC Group with a system of 11 member companies as well as global partners who are "thirsty" for semiconductor human resources. For example, Samsung, one of the two leading chip suppliers and manufacturers in the world, is the largest investor in CMC. These are open positions for students after graduation. Currently, CMC has also invested in 2 microchip design labs with software copyright from Synopsys Chip Corporation, located at CMC University and CMC ATI Institute. Students will have the opportunity to practice with international standard microchip design tools early.
