Portrait of the "boss" behind the success of Vietnamese beauty "ladies"

Miss Phan Kim Oanh is a familiar face in the beauty and television industry, but few people know about her thorny life journey from the hard-working days, when she had to work many jobs to support her family.

The girl from the “Hai Phong” city has quietly pursued her education and artistic career, with the result being a master’s degree and more than 10 years of artistic work, appearing in films such as: Come home, my child, The single wife village, Barefoot tycoon…

And perhaps the most important milestone in her career was when Kim Oanh became the first Vietnamese "lady" to be crowned at the Mrs Grand International 2022 beauty pageant. After that, with her influence and ability to spread positive messages, the contest's President Khun Hset Han invited the Vietnamese representative to continue holding the Miss title for another year, becoming the first Miss in the history of the contest to hold the crown for two consecutive terms (2022-2023).

With beauty pageants springing up like mushrooms after a rain, Phan Kim Oanh said she had to face comments that her beauty was “not gorgeous enough” to become a beauty queen. Choosing to remain silent and prove it with actions, Kim Oanh actively cultivated the image of an intellectual and compassionate beauty queen.

In particular, in recent years, she has also become a "good midwife" when founding and organizing beauty contests for ladies, notably Mrs Grand Vietnam, Mrs Earth Vietnam, and persistently pursuing the principle of building a well-organized, kind and in-depth playground.

Also from those "playgrounds", Phan Kim Oanh successfully led Mrs Earth Vietnam 2024 Vu Thi Hoa to be crowned Mrs Earth International 2024, Mrs Grand Vietnam 2025 Nguyen Thi Thua to be crowned Mrs Grand International 2025, and Mrs Grand Vietnam 2025 runner-up Nguyen Thi Huyen to be crowned Mrs Supranational 2025.

The success of two seasons of Mrs Grand Vietnam (2023-2025), Mrs Earth 2024 has gradually clearly demonstrated the passion of "boss" Kim Oanh, when attracting hundreds of contestants from many different professions and regions.

What they have in common is that they do not compete for glory, but rather spread a positive message about the intellectual beauty, courage and personal achievements of mature, modern women. The contestants and beauty queens who emerged from the contest are all educated and hold important positions in society such as PhDs, lecturers, doctors, CEOs, etc.

It can be seen that Phan Kim Oanh's journey represents a Vietnamese woman who dares to dream, strives and overcomes all prejudices to live true to her own values.
