The reunion of former teachers and students celebrating the 70th anniversary of Tran Cao Van High School - Tam Ky (formerly part of Tam Ky City, Quang Nam province, now Tran Cao Van High School, Tam Ky ward, Da Nang) took place today (July 12) in Ho Chi Minh City, filled with emotion. Generations of teachers and students who had been together under the roof of Tran Cao Van High School decades ago met again, their joy mixed with sadness. Each person wore a fabric badge on their chest, bearing the name of Tran Cao Van High School, the name of their teacher or student, and the period of time they had been associated with the school.
The teacher, over 90 years old, and the student, over 70 years old, reminisce about their school days.
These badges are just like those worn by students over the years. Simple and unpretentious, they evoke a sense of nostalgia in many, making them feel like they're back in their old school, hearing the voices of their teachers and friends.

Mr. Lien Trinh, 90 years old, a former math teacher at Tran Cao Van High School, has gray hair and wrinkled skin. He said: "Today, meeting so many former teachers and students who have now grown up is very moving."
Sitting next to Mr. Lien Trinh, Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, a French teacher at Tran Cao Van High School from 1959 to 1964, also felt nostalgic. The two put their arms around each other's shoulders, reminiscing about the many memories from decades ago under the familiar roof of Tran Cao Van High School. "I've taught at many schools, but I've always seen the students of Tran Cao Van High School as united, studying together and striving for excellence," Mr. Chuong shared.

After retiring, Mr. Bao returned to his hometown and for many years has been teaching English for free to underprivileged children in various schools in Tam Ky, now Tam Ky ward, Da Nang city.
These badges serve as a reminder of the spirit of giving back and continuing the legacy.

Some returned to Vietnam from abroad for the reunion, while others traveled from Da Nang and many other provinces to Ho Chi Minh City, shaking hands and exchanging greetings. Mr. Nguyen Tri Tai, 91 years old, former principal of Tran Cao Van High School, was also present to celebrate with his colleagues and former students.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dien, former lecturer at the University of Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, a former student of Tran Cao Van High School, and head of the organizing committee for today's reunion of former teachers and students, said that among the more than 200 people who gathered today, there were many younger people, not just elderly men and women in their 80s and 90s, and that is a positive sign. These are the next generation, so that in the future, events like this will continue to be celebrated and carried on.

Tran Cao Van High School has a long and rich tradition, achieving many accomplishments in teaching and learning. The school's official website states that it was initially named Tam Ky Public High School (in the former Quang Nam province), with its first classes starting in 1955-1956. Later, the school changed its name to Tran Cao Van High School, and subsequently to Tran Cao Van High School. This 2025-2026 academic year marks the 70th anniversary of Tran Cao Van High School's founding.
The entrance exam scores for 10th grade at Tran Cao Van High School consistently ranked among the highest in the former Quang Nam province. This school was always the first choice for students in Tam Ky and neighboring areas such as Nui Thanh, Phu Ninh, Thang Binh, etc.
