New soldiers mature after 3 months of training

Báo Thanh HóaBáo Thanh Hóa13/06/2023

At the training ground of the Provincial Military Command, 120 new recruits of Battalion 40, Regiment 762, underwent the "three explosions" test. After three months of training, the new recruits not only matured in speech and action but also demonstrated the courage and confidence of a soldier, especially when entering the practical tests of: shooting AK submachine guns (exercise 1) at hidden and visible targets in broad daylight; detonating explosives (exercise 1); and throwing grenades accurately over a distance.

New recruits mature after 3 months of training. New recruits perform the first exercise in AK submachine gun shooting.

It was a very special day for the soldiers of Battalion 40, Regiment 762, Provincial Military Command, who had just completed their shooting practice with excellent results. Private Mai Xuan Tien, Company 2, Battalion 40, and his comrades were awarded flowers by the unit commander for their excellent marksmanship. For Tien, this is a truly proud achievement, a reward for months of hard work on the training ground, and a preparation for the next assessment. Having achieved the "Excellent Shooter" award in the first round, Private Mai Xuan Tien, Company 2, Battalion 40, shared: "Thanks to mastering the theory, perfecting the techniques, and performing the actions correctly, 5 out of 8 soldiers achieved excellent results in the very first round. I am very happy to have achieved such high results and been awarded the "Excellent Shooter" award. Before the inspection, officers at all levels regularly provided guidance, encouragement, and shared their experience, which helped me grasp the basic movements and techniques. I remained calm, confident, and highly determined, achieving excellent results in all three rounds. I am truly thrilled. This is a gift I dedicate to my comrades, family, and friends; it is an important motivation for me to continue striving and successfully completing my duties in the future."

This was the first time the unit had practiced handling explosives and throwing live grenades, so preparing the soldiers psychologically and ensuring their composure was a top priority. Therefore, officers at all levels closely monitored and encouraged the soldiers, focusing on refining their movements and techniques, combining this with psychological training, and promptly correcting mistakes to help the soldiers grasp the training content. In addition, the unit maintained supplementary training to improve physical fitness, courage, and practical skills. Simultaneously, they incorporated additional training methods and actively practiced realistic conditions on the training ground to familiarize the soldiers with the environment.

With the motto "Fundamental, practical, and solid," the unit intensified training to improve tactical skills, combined with cultivating courage, agility, and discipline. Before the inspection, the unit organized segmented and combined firing sessions to familiarize soldiers with the sound of gunfire, build mental fortitude, and draw lessons for each individual. As a result, during the inspection, the new recruits grasped the knowledge they had acquired, remained calm and confident, handled situations quickly and decisively, successfully completed the inspection tasks, and strictly obeyed the orders of their commanders on the training ground.

Sharing with us, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tuan, Deputy Regiment Commander and Chief of Staff of Regiment 762, Provincial Military Command, said: To effectively serve the "three explosions" test for new recruits, the regiment's Party Committee and command have recently led and directed agencies and units to do a good job of preparing training grounds and practice areas, ensuring adequate facilities, weapons, and equipment; focusing on training to improve practical skills and movements; strengthening political and ideological education, building the determination and resolve to achieve the highest results and absolute safety.

The final "three-explosive" test is a central part of the new recruit training program. This is a crucial assessment that contributes to evaluating the training capabilities of officers at all levels and building a strong psychological foundation for new recruits. It serves as a basis for ensuring that after three months of training, new recruits possess sufficient health, political acumen, moral character, technical and tactical skills, and proficiency in using assigned weapons and equipment, ready to undertake and successfully complete all tasks in their respective positions.

In a conversation with us, Colonel Vu Van Tung, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command, stated: “To effectively serve the annual training content, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command have done a good job of leading and directing units and specialized agencies to prepare training grounds and practice areas. The planning and investment in the construction of shooting ranges and training grounds have been given attention by Party committees and commanders at all levels, following an annual schedule to ensure progress and suitability to actual conditions. The Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command have invested in upgrading and building the infrastructure of the shooting range to meet the training requirements for various groups. To date, the project has put into use items such as: the basic infantry shooting range; the infantry combat techniques training ground, the swimming training lake; the rear area and other technical infrastructure... thereby contributing to improving the quality of training of the provincial armed forces. Regarding the results of new recruit training this year...” "2023 saw many changes and achieved many results in the process of organizing training and raising awareness to enhance the political fortitude of soldiers entering their first year of training."

The oath-taking ceremony under the military flag marks a significant turning point in a soldier's life. From this point on, the soldier must be absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, and the People, and uphold their sacred oath. Just yesterday they were new recruits, but now these soldiers, weathered by hardship, have officially become soldiers of Uncle Ho. This is a source of joy and pride, but it also means a heavy responsibility; the road ahead for these new soldiers requires them to study and train diligently to grow even more.

Immediately after the oath-taking ceremony, the soldiers were assigned to various agencies and units within the provincial armed forces. Their baggage consisted of the fruits of their three months of training, and this initial achievement served as a foundation, giving them confidence upon arriving at their new units and preparing them to successfully undertake any assigned tasks.
