Waiting for compensation, coach Shin Tae-yong stays in Indonesia to film

Shin Tae-yong was officially fired by PSSI from his position as coach of the Indonesian national team on January 6. Dutch football legend Patrick Kluivert replaced Shin Tae-yong as coach of the Indonesian national team with a 2-year contract with an option to extend.

As for coach Shin Tae-yong, he has not returned to Korea but is still in Indonesia to negotiate compensation with PSSI.

Recently, coach Shin Tae-yong shared with Indonesian media that he has received many invitations from different national teams, however, the 1970-born coach has not made a decision yet.

"There are many offers coming in, but I still have issues to resolve," coach Shin Tae-yong told Indonesian media on January 19. "I have not agreed to any offers yet and want to rest for a while," the Korean coach continued.

During this time, coach Shin Tae-yong participated in the Indonesian horror comedy “Ghost Soccer: Bola Mati”. The 55-year-old coach participated as a guest actor and played himself.

In one scene, coach Shin Tae-yong gives instructions to a village football team. The former coach of the Korean national team said he accepted to participate in this film because of the content related to football.

The movie that coach Shin Tae-yong participates in has a football theme.

“I am still a footballer and loved by Indonesian fans. So I have to reciprocate their love,” coach Shin Tae-yong explained.

"Since this film focuses on football, I am happy to be able to contribute. The main content of the film is related to the development of youth football in Indonesia. I hope this film will inspire people to love football and support the development of youth football," the Korean coach added.

Mr. Shin Tae Yong also expressed excitement and a little anxiety because this was his first time acting in a movie.

Fajar Nugra, one of the film's main actors, admitted that he was impressed by the presence of the Korean strategist on set. " At first, I didn't believe that coach Shin Tae-yong would participate in filming. It turned out that he was very humble and humorous. I felt very proud to be in the same frame with him ," Fajar shared.
