Proactive and flexible in information and propaganda work

In the third quarter of 2024, the provincial propaganda system closely followed the directives of the Central Propaganda Department and the work program of the Party Committee. It proactively, creatively, flexibly, and innovatively implemented and proposed effective and high-quality tasks according to the set program and plan, as well as newly arising tasks.

The Propaganda Departments at all levels have actively and proactively advised Party committees on innovating and improving the quality of research, study, understanding, and dissemination of Party resolutions and directives, and organizing conferences; proactively guiding the press, directing propaganda for commemorating major holidays and important political events of the country and the province; and carrying out information and propaganda work on disaster prevention and control in the province...

Activities aimed at protecting the Party's ideological foundation and combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints continue to be innovated and improved in quality, contributing to maintaining internal political security from the provincial to the grassroots level, and strengthening the trust of cadres, Party members, and the people in the leadership of the Party and the State.

Comrade Mai Duc Thong, Editor-in-Chief of Tuyen Quang Newspaper, delivered a speech at the conference.

The press agencies in the province promptly reported and publicized the working visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to inspect flood and storm prevention and control work and to visit and encourage people in flood-affected areas in Tuyen Quang province; promptly updated information on Typhoon No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi), flood and storm response and prevention work, the rain and flood situation in the province; central and provincial directives on disaster prevention and control to enable people to proactively prevent and avoid damage, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property; damage caused by rain and floods; activities to help and support the people; and the results and situation of overcoming damage caused by storms and floods in the province.

At the conference, delegates exchanged views and clarified several points to note in the implementation of information and propaganda tasks and press and publishing management in the third quarter; they also discussed and proposed several contents to continue innovating and improving the effectiveness of information and propaganda work in the future. Delegates also suggested the need for more effective coordination between departments, agencies, and localities with press agencies, especially regarding responsibility in interacting with and responding to readers on the fan pages of press and media agencies.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Nong Thi Bich Hue, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, emphasized: During the quarter, the propaganda system and media agencies throughout the province have been proactive and flexible in carrying out their tasks. Especially during the recent storms and floods, media agencies closely followed the situation at the grassroots level, monitoring weather developments and the guidance and inspection activities of provincial leaders regarding storm and flood prevention and control.

The press also promptly reported on flood relief efforts and the spirit of mutual support among the people in difficult circumstances; providing quick information on the extent of the damage. During the difficult times of storms and floods, there was no gap; information was complete and timely, creating a positive effect on society.

The comrade suggested that in the coming period, the provincial propaganda system and media agencies should continue to closely follow the issues and events of the country and the province, effectively carrying out the task of information and propaganda; focus on advising the Party committee to effectively implement the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style; and continue to improve the effectiveness of protecting the Party's ideological foundation.

In propaganda work, the focus is on leadership and guidance towards preparing for Party congresses at all levels; the implementation of socio-economic development targets and tasks for the fourth quarter of 2024; concentrating on promoting the "New Confidence, New Spirit" of the country; the synchronized involvement of the political system and the initial efforts of the entire Party, people, and army in ensuring the country's continued stability and development with many outstanding achievements; the Party's will and the people's aspirations; the feelings and trust of cadres, Party members, and all strata of the people towards the Party, the State, and the country's renewal process, in order to create momentum for the entire political system to resolutely strive to achieve the goals set forth in the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels.

In particular, media outlets need to prominently publicize the Party, State, and provincial authorities' concern in developing policies and mechanisms to support people affected by storms and floods; thoroughly understand the content of information dissemination in accordance with Regulation 234 of the Central Party Secretariat on information regarding the activities of Party and State leaders; and continue to proactively handle harmful and toxic information, promptly guiding public opinion.
