President Luong Cuong and his wife release carp to see off the Kitchen Gods.

(NLDO)-President Luong Cuong and his wife, along with overseas Vietnamese delegates, participated in the carp release activity at Uncle Ho's Fish Pond in the Presidential Palace.

On the morning of January 19, President Luong Cuong and his wife Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet, along with representatives of central ministries, departments, and agencies, Hanoi City, and nearly 100 overseas Vietnamese delegates, performed an incense offering ceremony at Kinh Thien Palace in Thang Long Imperial Citadel.

Next, the President and his wife, along with overseas Vietnamese delegates, participated in the carp release activity at Uncle Ho's Fish Pond in the Presidential Palace Relic Site. The event took place just a few days before the 23rd of December - the day to send the Kitchen Gods to heaven, with the meaning of "the carp jumps over the Dragon Gate and becomes a dragon", symbolizing perseverance and endurance towards development and success.

In a friendly and open atmosphere, President Luong Cuong and his wife shared with overseas Vietnamese about their work and life situation; thanked the Vietnamese community around the world for always turning their hearts towards their homeland and country; and wished all overseas Vietnamese a new year of peace, prosperity and success.

This is an activity within the framework of the "Homeland Spring 2025" program, co-organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hanoi People's Committee.

According to the program, on the same evening, President Luong Cuong will wish overseas Vietnamese a Happy New Year and beat the drum to open the Spring Festival in the Spring Homeland Art Exchange Program 2025 at the National Convention Center for all overseas Vietnamese to attend.

The Homeland Spring 2025 program with the theme "Vietnam - Rising in the new era" takes place from January 18 to 20 with many rich and meaningful events. This is an important cultural-political event, attracting special attention from the overseas Vietnamese community and is always awaited by overseas Vietnamese every time Tet comes and Spring comes. This year's program attracted the participation of about 1,500 overseas Vietnamese delegates from all over the world returning to their homeland to celebrate Tet.
