To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), on the morning of April 23, Mr. Do Minh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, visited and presented gifts to Dien Bien Phu soldiers, relatives of martyrs, youth volunteers, and civilian workers who directly participated in and served in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign and are currently residing in Sam Son City.

During his visits, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Minh Tuan inquired about the health and well-being of Dien Bien Phu soldiers, relatives of martyrs, former Youth Volunteers, and civilian workers on the front lines; expressing his respect and gratitude for the immense contributions and sacrifices of the martyrs and soldiers of Dien Bien Phu in the resistance war against the French, contributing together with our army and people to the Dien Bien Phu victory, "renowned throughout the world and shaking the earth".
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also informed the Dien Bien Phu veterans about the series of activities organized by Thanh Hoa province to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory; and extended best wishes for good health to the Dien Bien Phu veterans, the families of martyrs, former Youth Volunteers, and civilian workers on the front lines. He also expressed his hope that the Dien Bien Phu veterans and their families would continue to uphold the revolutionary tradition, maintain the spirit of the Dien Bien Phu soldiers of the past, educate their children to continue the traditions of their ancestors, and contribute their intellect and efforts to building a more civilized, prosperous, and beautiful homeland.
In keeping with the national tradition of "drinking water and remembering the source," the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Party Committee and the government of Sam Son City to continue to effectively implement social welfare and gratitude programs, paying attention to and properly implementing policies for families with meritorious contributions to the revolution, creating motivation for each family to continuously strive to build a prosperous and happy life.
