Local authorities, along with border guards, have urgently evacuated 11 households with 41 people from Hamlet 56B, Dak Pre Commune, to a safe location.

After inspecting the site, the Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee, Le Van Dung, stated that the cracks were too deep, dangerous, and threatened the lives of the people. The Quang Nam leader also praised the quick and timely response of the local authorities in evacuating people to safety.

“At first glance, this hillside is bound to collapse sooner or later because the cracks are too large. Therefore, people must absolutely not be allowed to return to their old homes. The local authorities must take responsibility for sharing information, encouraging, and reminding people to stay in the designated locations,” Mr. Le Van Dung instructed.

Although it has stopped raining, the ground is very weak and soft, and the cracks are showing signs of widening. Therefore, the Dak Pring Border Guard Post has assigned a task force to be on duty at the area where the cracks have appeared, ready to coordinate with local forces and promptly handle any dangerous situations.

According to the leaders of Nam Giang district, the lives of the people who have been relocated to safe areas have been ensured in terms of clean water, personal belongings, and food. Their property is also guaranteed safe, and they will be relocated as soon as possible.

During a survey of the evacuation site, Mr. Le Van Dung highly praised the facilities and the ensured well-being of the people. The Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee also presented many gifts to residents at landslide-prone areas and encouraged them to stay put in their current locations. The government will soon have a plan to provide timely support.

Currently, all the houses located at the foot of the hill and in areas at risk of landslides are uninhabited. Some households only pass through to retrieve essential personal belongings.
