VFF President assigns new tasks to U.23 Vietnam
After the resounding victory at the 2025 Southeast Asian U.23 Championship, on the morning of August 1, U.23 Vietnam was met and congratulated by Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Chairman of the Vietnam Olympic Committee Nguyen Van Hung at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong, leaders of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the coaching staff and the U.23 Vietnam players. This is a recognition of the extraordinary efforts of the entire team when they won the Southeast Asian championship for the third consecutive time, especially the first time defeating the home team right on the field.

VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan also shared his emotions when the team received attention from the Prime Minister and sports leaders. He emphasized that this victory was even more special when it was won against the home team in a passionate atmosphere at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.
The players will aim for the next goals of U.23 Asia and SEA Games 33.

Recognizing the team's brave fighting spirit and smart tactics, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan also assigned a new task to U.23 Vietnam: "VFF also has a plan to prepare carefully and scientifically for the team to prepare for the next two tournaments, with the goal at SEA Games 33 being to be present in the final match," he said at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, head coach Kim Sang-sik expressed his emotion when the team received a congratulatory letter from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh . He also deeply thanked the leaders at all levels, the Vietnam Football Federation and the fans for always supporting and creating favorable conditions for the team.
The Korean strategist emphasized that the training trip in Vung Tau helped the whole team prepare thoroughly, creating a foundation for the recent achievements. According to Mr. Kim, this victory will be a great motivation to move towards two key goals this year: the U.23 Asian qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.

In the immediate future, the U.23 Vietnam team will focus on the goal of winning the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand this December, the U.23 Asian Championship and then the 2026 ASIAD. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his players will have a lot of work to do, especially when the teams in the same region all consider U.23 Vietnam as the number 1 opponent after the recent U.23 Southeast Asian Championship.
