The special art program "Proud of Our Homeland" was held in Higashi Osaka City (Japan).

This is a meaningful activity by the Vietnamese community living and working in Japan, showing their love for their homeland and country on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

The program attracted over 1,000 attendees, including overseas Vietnamese, international students, interns, and international friends from various prefectures in the Kansai region such as Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Nara, and others.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Le Thuong, President of the General Association of Vietnamese People in the Kansai region, emphasized: “We organized this program not only to celebrate National Day together, but also to remind every Vietnamese person living abroad to always be proud of and preserve their national cultural values. This is also an opportunity for the community to meet, connect, and look towards the homeland.”

With national pride and solidarity as the overarching themes, the program included many outstanding musical and dance performances, along with songs reflecting the homeland, performed by community artists and students.

The performance of traditional Ao Dai (Vietnamese long dress) was part of the special art program "Proud of Our Homeland".

The performances were elaborately staged, combining music , dance, and lighting, creating a solemn and emotional atmosphere. This was also an opportunity for the younger generation, born and raised in Japan, to better understand, appreciate, and be proud of their heritage.

The program was also marked by a performance of traditional Vietnamese ao dai costumes. The amateur models, mostly young Vietnamese people from the Kansai region, showcased confidence and grace, contributing to conveying the beauty of Vietnamese culture to international friends.

Ms. Mai Anh, Head of the Organizing Committee and Artistic Director of the program, shared: “Through music, fashion , and stage art, we want to create a space for multi-generational exchange, so that Vietnamese people in Japan, especially the youth, can connect with and be proud of their national culture.”

Besides the performances, the event also features cultural and culinary exhibition areas, folk games, and calligraphy stalls, creating a warm and colorful community atmosphere.

The program is an opportunity for young people born and raised in Japan to better understand, appreciate, and be proud of their national heritage.

Mr. Trinh Van Thien (currently working in Osaka) said: “This is the happiest and most joyful National Day celebration I've had since coming to Japan. I arrived early to support the organizing committee. It was a moving and proud artistic program. I want to thank the organizing committee for giving me the opportunity to sing the national anthem with many Vietnamese people in Japan to celebrate our country's National Day.”

The "Proud of Our Homeland" program is a highlight in this year's National Day celebrations by the Vietnamese community in the Kansai region.

Beyond demonstrating organizational maturity, the program also serves as proof of the community's efforts in preserving and spreading Vietnamese culture in the host country.

The General Association of Vietnamese People in Kansai announced that it will continue to organize culturally rich events and expand their scale in the future, aiming to establish a Vietnamese Culture Week in Kansai, an annual cultural and artistic playground for overseas Vietnamese and international friends.
