The program, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Organizing Committee for Major Holidays and implemented by the Ho Chi Minh City Light Music Center, will take place at the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street stage at 7:30 PM on September 2nd.
On September 2nd, at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, President Ho Chi Minh, on behalf of the Provisional Government, solemnly read the Declaration of Independence, proclaiming to the people of the whole country and the entire world the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam). From this point, our country entered a new era - the era of independence, freedom, and socialism.
From that historic moment, unity created a combined strength, steering the Vietnamese revolutionary ship through countless difficulties.
Today, the country has achieved many significant accomplishments, with consistently high economic growth, improved living standards for the people, maintained political and social stability, ensured national defense and security, increasingly完善 legal institutions, expanded foreign relations, proactive international integration, and positive and responsible contributions to peace and cooperation in the region and globally.
Ho Chi Minh City – the city named after President Ho Chi Minh – has always lived up to its tradition of unwavering resilience in the struggle against foreign invaders and heroism in building and defending the Fatherland. The Party Committee, Government, and people of the city have always strongly promoted the noble qualities of the city's people, leading the way in overcoming difficulties and challenges, becoming a powerfully developing urban center of the country and the Southeast Asian region in many aspects. At the same time, they always remember Independence Day, a crucial historical milestone that led to the nation we have today.
