The clip attracted more than 16 million views, receiving thousands of comments expressing emotion about the love between teachers and students in the highlands.

It is known that the teacher in the above clip is Kim Hong, a teacher at Sin Chai school, Primary Boarding School No. 2, Phong Hai town, Bao Thang district, Lao Cai province.

On the afternoon of November 20, answering VietNamNet, Ms. Hong said that she was very surprised and happy when the clip went viral and received many positive responses. The female teacher shared that she was born and started her career in Phong Hai town, and has worked in the highlands for 26 years, and has been attached to Sin Chai school for nearly 10 years.

Sin Chai school has 28 students divided into 2 classes. Ms. Hong’s class has 16 students, all of whom are Mong ethnic people and come from poor households. Ms. Kim Hong added that recently, the school has organized thematic groups on major holidays for students to gain practical experience.

“October 20 is about Vietnamese women, I guide the children to draw pictures or make cards to give to their mothers. Similarly, on November 20, the children will prepare simple gifts for their teachers,” Ms. Hong shared.

Regarding gifts, Ms. Hong emphasized that she "forbids" children from spending money on expensive items.

“I encourage students to think of their own gifts and suggest picking flowers they see on their way to school. For example, when a student gives a crab, I ask where he got it, and he answers that his father caught it at work and brought it as a gift; another student gives sugarcane…”, Ms. Hong confided.

After nearly 30 years of working with students in the highlands, Ms. Hong was still moved when receiving the above gifts.

The principal of the 'plastic chair' and the 100 billion VND school in the border district , Mr. Khang said he is like a "torn leaf", but always has the goal of striving to become a "healthy leaf", not only being able to take care of himself but also helping many other people.
