Thanks to the assistance of the police, a resident of Bac Giang province returned 7 billion VND that had been mistakenly transferred to their bank account.

On March 21, the Bac Giang Provincial Police announced that the Viet Lap Commune Police in Tan Yen District, Bac Giang Province, had assisted a resident in returning 7 billion VND that had been mistakenly transferred to a bank account.

Specifically, at 11:30 AM on the same day, the Viet Lap Commune Police received a request from Mr. PVX, residing in the area, to verify and return 7 billion VND that had been transferred to his bank account on March 20th by an account belonging to the Vietnam Technological and Commercial Bank ( Techcombank ).

Subsequently, the Viet Lap Commune Police and the Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of the Bac Giang Provincial Police verified the incident.

At approximately 2 PM on March 21st, Ms. TTBX - representing the company that mistakenly transferred the money - and a representative from the bank went to the police station to provide documents in order to receive back the 7 billion VND.

Mr. PVX said he had read and heard a lot of information about preventing online fraud and property theft.

The message included a warning about scams involving mistakenly transferring money, so he reported it to the police, hoping to find the person who sent the money by mistake.

By 4:30 PM on the same day, at the Techcombank branch in Bac Giang, the relevant parties had completed the procedures and fully returned the 7 billion VND to the company that mistakenly transferred the money.

The business representative was moved and expressed gratitude to Mr. X and the police officers for their assistance in recovering the money.

Following this incident, the Bac Giang Provincial Police Department urges citizens to carefully check account information when making money transfers to avoid transferring money to the wrong account.

If you receive money that has been mistakenly transferred to your account, you should contact the nearest police station for assistance.
