Transferring 174 tenth-grade students who were illegally enrolled to other schools.

Báo Đại Đoàn KếtBáo Đại Đoàn Kết01/11/2024

On November 1st, information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training indicated that 174 tenth-grade students from To Hien Thanh High School (Ha Dong district), who were enrolled without permission, will be transferred to Van Lang High School (Dong Da district).

Following up on the information regarding To Hien Thanh High School's enrollment of 174 10th-grade students for the 2024-2025 school year without permission from the management agency, on November 1st, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced that it has worked with relevant parties to find a solution that ensures the rights of the students.

The proposed solution is to transfer all 10th-grade students to Van Lang High School.

To ensure suitable learning conditions for students transferring to the new school, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training also requested a review and reassessment of the 10th-grade admission requirements of Van Lang High School.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has requested To Hien Thanh High School to organize a meeting between all parties involved, including the school, the supervisory board, and 174 parents of students, as well as Van Lang High School, to agree on a solution that ensures the consensus of 100% of the parents.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training also demanded that To Hien Thanh High School apologize to parents for the irregularities in the 10th grade admissions process, which was conducted without the department's permission.

For parents who wish to transfer their children to another school, the school must provide guidance and facilitate the transfer in accordance with regulations, and absolutely must not force parents to do so.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires To Hien Thanh High School to fully disclose the current tuition fees and the projected tuition fees for the next two years of Van Lang High School to parents, ensuring transparency in accordance with regulations. If To Hien Thanh High School has collected other fees (besides tuition), it must refund them to parents.

As reported by Dai Doan Ket Newspaper, in recent days, many parents have been confused after discovering that 174 tenth-grade students from To Hien Thanh High School for the 2024-2025 school year are not listed in the Hanoi Department of Education and Training's system, even though the school year has already reached the middle of the first semester.

The reason is that the school was not allocated an enrollment quota for the 2024-2025 school year because it did not yet meet the legal requirements regarding its operating location.
