CAHN Club defeated HAGL, Coach Gong Oh-kyun and Kiatisak laughed together

Coach Gong Oh-kyun made his debut for CAHN FC when his team hosted HAGL in the qualifying round of the 2023-2024 National Cup on the evening of November 25th at Hang Day Stadium.

Despite conceding the first goal after Ngoc Quang's strike, the home team came back to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Ngoc Thang and Jefferson Elias, giving coach Gong Oh-kyun his first victory.

Speaking after the match, coach Gong Oh-kyun stated: "I understand that the whole team worked hard to achieve today's victory. I am satisfied with the team. Throughout the 90 minutes of play, the entire team met the tactical requirements. There were some minor issues on the flanks due to injuries. But overall, the whole team tried their best. This victory was not hard-fought."

Regarding the decision to deploy defender Ho Tan Tai as a central midfielder in this match, coach Gong Oh-kyun commented: "When I was in Korea, I saw that Ho Tan Tai had the ability to play in the middle of the field, circulating the ball."

The South Korean coach also declined to elaborate on the differences between his previous coaching experience with CAHN Club and the Vietnam U.23 team.

"I don't see any difference between coaching the Vietnam U23 team and CAHN Club. I'm no longer coaching the Vietnam U23 team. Please consider me the coach of CAHN Club."

"I can't talk about the team's tactics yet because we've only had two days to assemble the squad, with players returning from the national team. Perhaps my tactics will depend on the opponent and the timing of the match," Coach Gong Oh-kyun affirmed with a smile.

On the other side of the pitch, coach Kiatisak Senamuang expressed his regret over HAGL's defeat: "HAGL played with good spirit, created many opportunities and scored the opening goal. I am proud of my players."

Their opponents, CAHN Club, were very strong; they successfully capitalized on their scoring opportunities and staged a successful comeback.

"In this match, HAGL was missing a foreign player due to injury. It's a pity that the attack lacked a partner for Jhon Cley. HAGL has shown signs of improvement and hopefully will continue this form in the V-League 2023-2024," Kiatisak said, smiling, though perhaps not happily.
