CAHN FC ended their four-match winless streak in the V-League 2023-2024 by thrashing Binh Duong FC 3-0 in the match of round 8, which took place at 7:15 PM on December 26th at Hang Day Stadium.
Goals from Junior Fialho, Quang Hai, and Tan Tai helped the reigning V-League champions escape the "quagmire" and temporarily return to the top 4.
Speaking about the reasons for CAHN's resurgence, especially right after coach Gong Oh-kyun was suspended, assistant coach Azmin Aziz commented: "That's football, it's a story of the right person at the right time. The players played with focus and a desire to win. Binh Duong FC was in a good position in the standings, but we played effectively. That's why we won."
CAHN Club won immediately after coach Gong Oh-kyun was no longer in charge.
When asked about the incident where Technical Director Tran Tien Dai lost his temper with the referee, leading to his dismissal from the sidelines (and subsequently being barred from attending the press conference), Azmin Aziz simply said: "Everyone is concerned about similar tense situations on the field when there are clashes. It's already happened, that's all I can say."
Regarding the issue of the team changing its coaching staff and subsequently achieving good results (breaking a four-game winless streak), Azmin Aziz once again reiterated his very concise and succinct answer: "The right people at the right time, that's it."
Throughout the press conference, CAHN club's assistant coach Azmin Aziz provided very little information. When asked again about the improvement in performance due to the change in leadership, Aziz said: "I have nothing to comment on. I will not say anything outside of this match."
A member of the CAHN club's coaching staff added: "We still have a chance to win the championship. The whole team needs to work hard and be confident to return to the number one position we achieved last season." He also praised Quang Hải for having a very good game.
Answering the final question about whether coach Gong Oh-kyun had previously mispositioned players, leading to a decline in the club's performance, assistant coach Azmin Aziz said: "Every coach has their own philosophy; if they are in the right positions, they will play better."
