According to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Trung Hieu, Head of the Traffic Police Department (CSGT), PC08, Ho Chi Minh City Police, since the beginning of 2023, the City Traffic Police have seriously and effectively implemented the tasks and solutions to ensure traffic safety. Thereby, the number of cases, deaths and injuries has been significantly reduced compared to 2022; no particularly serious traffic accidents have occurred.

In addition, PC08 proactively checked routes and areas where gatherings, traffic in groups, public disorder (PDO) and illegal racing often occur or are at risk; advised Ho Chi Minh City Police to establish 5 anti-racing clusters.

Along with that, we focus on monitoring, reviewing, and detecting associations and groups on social networks related to gatherings, driving vehicles that disrupt traffic, illegal racing, and the operation of "car tuning workshops", establishments that buy and sell spare parts for "car tuning"; videos posted promoting images of gatherings, high-speed driving, buying and selling spare parts, and information about "car tuning workshops".

Major General Tran Duc Tai, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police Department

Speaking to SGGP Newspaper, Major General Tran Duc Tai, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police, said that he has requested the entire Traffic Police force of the city to seriously and effectively carry out tasks and solutions to ensure traffic safety according to the direction of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Public Security . In particular, it is necessary to control accidents, reduce traffic congestion, and absolutely not let especially serious traffic accidents happen.

The Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police informed that in just one week of pilot testing on National Highway 1, the City Traffic Police discovered 17 drivers positive for stimulants and 123 drivers with alcohol levels. The situation of drivers using stimulants and alcohol is very complicated and poses a risk of causing accidents. On the evening of November 24, Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police simultaneously deployed across the city and divided into 5 clusters in the inner city and 5 clusters in the suburbs to "tighten" alcohol and drivers using stimulants.

“Ho Chi Minh City Police will maintain and resolutely handle traffic safety violations, especially those who use stimulants or alcohol while participating in traffic; and those who carry oversized or overloaded loads that disrupt traffic safety on public transport routes,” Major General Tran Duc Tai emphasized.
