Urgently design and announce storm and flood resistant house models

The Ministry of Construction has just requested the provinces and cities of Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, and Lam Dong to urgently research, design, and publicize storm- and flood-resistant house models.

Storm and flood resistant housing models have been deployed in the Central region.

The Ministry of Construction said that in recent times, localities across the country have designed and announced nearly 200 housing designs that are suitable for the customs, habits, and cultural traditions of each locality. Regarding storm and flood resistant housing models, previously, localities implementing housing support policies for poor households to avoid storms and floods have also designed 3-5 housing models. Typical storm and flood resistant housing designs were posted by the Ministry of Construction on the Electronic Information Portal https://moc.gov.vn/vn/tin-tuc/1269/90028/mau-thiet-ke-dien-hinh-nha-o-phongchong-bao-lut.aspx.

To provide people with more information and diverse models, the Ministry of Construction recommends that localities direct construction departments and relevant agencies to continue researching, designing or reviewing and adjusting typical storm and flood-resistant housing models, suitable to the current situation.

At the same time, the Ministry of Construction recommends that localities continue to widely publicize on the electronic information portal of the Department of Construction and the media so that people can refer to and choose models suitable to their family's conditions.

According to the proposal of the Ministry of Construction, the design models must ensure area, quality, storm and flood prevention and have reasonable height, ensuring safety for people. The design and announcement of the local design models must be completed before December 10 to meet the rapid progress of the "Quang Trung Campaign" to rebuild and repair houses for families whose houses were damaged by recent natural disasters in the Central provinces.
