A Vuong Hydropower Joint Stock Company completed overhaul of generators ahead of schedule.

ĐNO - After nearly a month of suspension for major repairs, at 8:50 p.m. on August 28, Unit H2 of Song Bung 2 Hydropower Plant officially generated electricity and connected to the national grid, 2 days ahead of schedule.

Earlier, on August 6th, Unit H1 of the Song Bung 4 Hydropower Plant also completed its overhaul, two days ahead of the approved schedule.

The Song Bung 2 hydropower plant (located in Ben Giang commune) has a capacity of 100MW, consisting of two 50MW units, and the Song Bung 4 hydropower plant (located in Nam Giang commune) has a capacity of 156MW, consisting of two 78MW units. Both are owned by Song Bung Hydropower Company - a branch of Power Generation Corporation 2; AVC was assigned to carry out the overhaul of these units.

Upon taking over the equipment, AVC mobilized maximum human and material resources to conduct measurements, assess the equipment's condition, and implement overhauls. At the Song Bung 2 Hydropower Plant, the unit focused on overhauling Unit H2 and related systems, including: removing the rotor for inspection and maintenance, and strengthening the generator's insulation. At the Song Bung 4 Hydropower Plant, the overhaul focused on Unit H1 and related systems, including: removing the magnetic poles for inspection and repair, and improving operational reliability.

Thanks to its experience and modern construction equipment, AVC successfully completed the overhaul of Unit H2 (Song Bung 2 Hydropower Plant) and Unit H1 (Song Bung 4 Hydropower Plant), ensuring quality and exceeding the schedule by two days. This is a crucial step in improving the efficiency of the units, ensuring safe and stable operation, and optimizing power generation capacity before the 2025 rainy season.
