At the ceremony taking place on the afternoon of December 2, Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, presented the Third Class Labor Medal to the Central Post Office.

60 years of dedicated service to the Party and Government

60 years ago, during the fierce war period of the country, the task of ensuring smooth communication between the Central Government and localities and with the battlefields became an urgent requirement, requiring a specialized unit to carry out this important task. Therefore, the Central Party Secretariat issued Resolution No. 115-NQ/TW to establish a special Post Office, under the direct command of the Central Party Office. Implementing the above Resolution, on June 17, 1965, Prime Minister Pham Van Dong signed Decision No. 101/CP to establish the Central Post Office directly serving the Central Party Office and the Government with the responsibility of "serving the specific requirements of communication, which need to be ensured quickly, promptly, accurately and confidentially between the Central Party and the Government with agencies, branches and levels".

The unit has been honored by the Party and State with many noble titles such as: Hero of the Armed Forces, Hero of Labor... and many other noble titles.

During the war, the Department ensured top-secret communication from the Central to the battlefield, including maintaining radio waves for 12 days and nights of the "Dien Bien Phu in the Air" campaign; directly serving the Vietnamese Delegation at the 1972 Paris Conference... During the COVID-19 period, this was also the unit that ensured communication right in the first instructions from the Central to localities to fight the epidemic.

The Central Post Office is also associated with the growth of four special information systems in Vietnam, including the Special Data Transmission Network, the Special Telephone Network, the Special Telegraph Network and the KT1 Postal Network.
