A prosperous life and sustainable employment are the goals of the patriotic emulation movement among union members and workers.

Trade unions need to further promote patriotic emulation movements among workers, civil servants, and laborers; innovate thinking, content, and methods of organizing emulation movements with the spirit of innovation as the driving force, digital transformation as the method, and labor productivity as the measure.

This is the request made by Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien to the Trade Union organization at the 11th National Emulation Congress of Workers, Civil Servants and Laborers, which took place on the morning of October 26 in Hanoi .

Attending the congress were 400 advanced models representing millions of union members, workers and laborers across the country.

Thousands of initiatives and solutions bring great economic efficiency

On behalf of the leaders of the Party, the State, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Central Emulation and Reward Council, Mr. Do Van Chien acknowledged, commended and respectfully thanked the great contributions of trade union organizations, workers, civil servants and laborers nationwide in the patriotic emulation movements in recent times.

Trade unions at all levels have widely implemented emulation movements launched by trade union organizations, such as "good workers, creative workers", "good at public work, reducing housework", "green, clean, beautiful, safe and hygienic work"...

In particular, the program of 75,000 initiatives to overcome difficulties and develop and 1 million initiatives to overcome difficulties and be creative in determination to win the Covid-19 pandemic; the 500 kV line project, circuit 3 from Quang Binh to Hung Yen and the 500 kV line from Phu Tho to Lao Cai...

From the emulation movement, many typical examples have emerged with thousands of valuable initiatives and solutions bringing great economic efficiency.

Mr. Do Van Chien said that our country is entering a new era of building a strong, prosperous, civilized, and happy country. The entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army are striving to achieve the goal of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding, our country becoming a developed country with modern industry and high average income; 100 years of the country's founding, our country becoming a developed country with high income.

To achieve that goal, according to the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, it is necessary to make breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; synchronously deploy strategic breakthroughs; promote the strength of great national unity; and strongly arouse the will and aspirations of the Vietnamese people.

"I hope and suggest that trade unions need to further promote patriotic emulation movements among workers, civil servants, and laborers, innovate thinking, content, and methods of organizing emulation movements with the spirit of innovation as the driving force, digital transformation as the method, labor productivity as the measure; improved living standards and sustainable employment are the goals of patriotic emulation movements among union members and laborers," said Mr. Do Van Chien.

Overcoming the situation of formal, closed, and equal rewards

In the new context, the Trade Union organization operates under the common roof of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. Mr. Do Van Chien requested that trade unions at all levels from the Central to local and grassroots levels focus on implementing well the key task groups.

Accordingly, trade unions at all levels from the Central to the grassroots level continue to deeply grasp and effectively implement Directive 41 of the Politburo on strengthening the Party's leadership over emulation and reward work in the new situation.

The leader must directly direct and be responsible for the results of emulation movements within his/her management scope; link emulation movements with the implementation of political tasks; and consider emulation effectiveness an important criterion to evaluate the capacity and level of task completion of cadres and party members.

Trade union organizations must proactively take the lead in responding to patriotic emulation movements launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Government and the Central Emulation and Reward Council, in accordance with the practical situation of trade union organizations, especially movements associated with digital transformation, innovation, human resource development, greening production and improving labor productivity; launching emulation must go hand in hand with summarizing and rewarding organizations and individuals with outstanding achievements.

Also according to Mr. Do Van Chien, the union needs to improve the quality of commendation work; commendation must be timely, accurate, fair, public, taking the results of political task implementation and practical effectiveness as a measure, especially focusing on commending workers, direct laborers, collectives operating in difficult areas, remote areas and paying attention to thematic commendation, extraordinary commendation, overcoming the situation of formal, closed, and equal commendation.

Launching the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2025 - 2030

At the congress, on behalf of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang launched the patriotic emulation movement for workers and civil servants nationwide for the period 2025 - 2030 with the theme "Competition for innovation, digital transformation, improving labor productivity, confidently entering a new era with the country".

According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, in the coming period, our country will enter a new development phase with many fundamental changes. The revolution of organizing the political system, perfecting the 2-level local government organization model, promoting administrative reform, comprehensive digital transformation, promoting labor productivity, green growth, developing knowledge economy, circular economy... will create profound changes in the leadership, management and operation methods of the political system, posing new requirements, great pressure and unprecedented challenges for trade union activities in general, emulation and reward work in particular.
