(NLĐO) - Ninh Binh FC continued their eight-match unbeaten streak and solidified their top position in the V-League 2025-2026 standings after a 3-1 victory against hosts PVF-CAND.

Round 8 of the V-League 2025-2026 features a direct confrontation between two "newcomer" teams of the league. Possessing a squad of top V-League stars, the team from the ancient capital of Hoa Lu is considered the favorite against PVF-CAND, even though they will be playing away from home.

However, a surprise soon occurred when PVF-CAND scored the opening goal, taking the lead in the 9th minute. After a series of short passes in front of the visitors' penalty area, player Nguyen Thanh Nhan unleashed a quick shot, sending the ball into the net and beating goalkeeper Dang Van Lam.

Conceding an early goal spurred Ninh Binh FC to a strong comeback, proactively launching diverse attacks. In the 30th minute, Tran Bao Toan dribbled down the left wing, beating two PVF-CAND defenders before unleashing a powerful shot that nestled into the far corner of goalkeeper Do Sy Huy's net.

...and Hoang Duc both scored to help Ninh Binh come from behind to win against PVF-CAND.

The "spectacular" goal against PVF-CAND was also the first V-League goal of the season for the midfielder who came through the Hoang Anh Gia Lai academy. Bao Toan's equalizer also opened the way for Ninh Binh FC's comeback victory, with Rodrigues Gustavo Henrique scoring in the 35th minute and Hoang Duc sealing the 3-1 win in the 86th minute.

The victory in round 8 helped Hoang Duc and his teammates solidify their top position in the standings with 20 points, extending their unbeaten streak since the beginning of the tournament to 8 matches, including 6 wins.

Meanwhile, PVF-CAND is currently in 8th place with 7 points after 8 matches played. The Hung Yen team's ranking may drop after round 8 concludes as they have played one more match than the chasing pack.
