From October 29 to November 2, 2025, people in Duy Nghia commune ( Da Nang ) experienced days of anxiety when prolonged heavy rain combined with high tides caused the Thu Bon River to flow rapidly, causing serious erosion of 1.2km of An Luong embankment in Thuan An village and An Luong village. At An Luong fishing wharf, many sections of the embankment were cracked and collapsed, forming a deep frog jaw stretching nearly 2km, only a few meters from the residential area, threatening the lives and property of hundreds of households.

Faced with the emergency, Duy Nghia commune authorities mobilized all local forces, coordinated with Infantry Division 315 (Military Region 5), militia and people to deploy rescue.

More than 600 officers, soldiers and local security forces participated in reinforcing the embankment, transporting rocks, sandbags, and moving property and people to safety; at the same time, organizing traffic flow and ensuring traffic safety for convoys carrying emergency supplies in and out of the landslide area.

During the recent flood, the houses of Senior Lieutenant Vo Anh Trong and Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Thanh Nhan (Regiment 143) were flooded 2-3 meters deep; however, they still volunteered to command troops to help people overcome the consequences of the flood...

Thanks to the drastic direction of the Party Committee and government, the urgent participation of the armed forces and the spirit of solidarity and unanimity of the people, up to now the embankment has been basically maintained, ensuring absolute safety for the people of Thuan An and An Luong villages, contributing to stabilizing life after the flood.

At noon on November 1, facing a serious landslide situation on the Thu Bon River, the section passing through Tinh Yen village, Thu Bon commune with a length of about 100m, threatening many households living nearby, the leaders of Da Nang City Police urgently mobilized 100 officers and soldiers to coordinate with local authorities, militia forces and organizations to quickly build dikes, reinforce river banks; basically temporarily repairing the eroded embankment section in the afternoon of the same day.

By the morning of November 2, the reinforced embankment was still standing firm against the flood, minimizing damage to people, creating conditions for local authorities to continue implementing long-term, sustainable treatment measures.
